THE death of a woman whose body was discovered at a flat in Boscombe is being treated as ‘unexplained’.

Police and paramedics were called to a property in St Clement’s Gardens shortly after 10am on Tuesday.

A spokesman for the ambulance service confirmed there they found a 38-year-old woman deceased at the flat.

Police are not treating the death as suspicious and the file has been handed to the coroner.

A spokesman from Bournemouth Coroners Office confirmed that they were now dealing with the case.

He added: “Identification of the body will now be done forensically which could take some time.

“We are still waiting on the post-mortem and then we will be able to start the identification process.

“Currently the death is not being treated as suspicious but unexplained.”

Speaking to the Echo on Tuesday a neighbour, who asked not to be named, said she overheard police officers say that the body may have been there for a while.

There is no confirmation of how long the body had been there.
