An Emergency Services Family Fun Day takes place in Poole Park on Saturday, from 11am. The annual event is organised by Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service, working with a range of partners including Dorset Police, Dorset’s Police & Crime Commissioner, South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust and the SafeWise charity. The free admission show runs until 4pm. Attractions include police dogs CPR awareness, police drones, chip pan fire and real fire, animal rescue, sprinklers, line rescue, electrical safety, water rescue and multi-agency road traffic collision simulation.

Wild About Poole takes place between 10am and 4pm Saturday. There will be activities for all ages, guided walks, face painting and crafts beside Poole Harbour at Baiter as part of National Marine Weeks. You'll see owls, mini-beasts, moths, eco-crabbing, bird bioblitz and wild bingo with RSPB, wildlife gardening, art, craft, face painting and a walk for you and your dog from 11am. For more information call 01202 692033 or email nhoar@dorsetwildlifetrust.org.uk.

It's Wareham Carnival on Sunday. This year the procession, which will snake its way along North Street and West Street on its way to the Wareham Recreation Ground, is scheduled for a 1pm. Family fun on the Rec will include a falconry display in the arena and a field gun display. The British Legion are also setting up a poppy picnic. There will also be a marquee and bar, and a number of food stalls to providing refreshments. Live music in the marquee is scheduled for 5pm-8pm.

Doctor Who's arch enemies The Daleks will be roaming around The Tank Museum at Bovington this weekend. Visitors to the 'Attack of the Daleks' event are being encouraged to, once again, dress as their favourite characters from the hit science fiction television series. There will be a wide range of retro and sci-fi stalls on-site for the opportunity to stock up on collectibles and themed merchandise. Entry fees apply. 

A family fun garden party will raise funds for Waggy Tails Rescue on Sunday from noon until 4pm. Anyone is welcome to the event at The Bridge House Hotel, Ringwood Road, Ferndown on Sunday

Friends of the New Forest Air Fields Museum and Education Centre are holding an open day on Sunday from 10am to 4pm at the centre in Derritt Lane, Bransgore.

A family fun day Wild Sunday takes place at Avon Heath Country Park from 10.30am until 3pm. The event on Sunday features birds of prey, free guided walks, activities, archery, bow making, pony riding and wildlife stands. 

Onstage at Pier Approach is back this summer with free music everyday until August 6. On Saturday, there will be entertainment from Swarvy Dance between 3pm and 5pm and The Rats from 8pm to 9.30pm. Then on Sunday, you can watch the Chicken Soup Choir perform from 3pm to 5pm and The Royal T's between 8pm and 10.30pm. 

The Salvation Army will put on a free concert in the bandstand in the Lower Gardens on Sunday between 5pm and 6.30pm.
