A DOZEN new buses will operate on morebus' Purbeck routes, as part of a £2.4 million investment in the company's Breezer services.

Twelve brand new Volvo B5TL Euro 6 buses will be rolled out on the popular routes this summer, which take in some of the most picturesque countryside in the county.

Morebus' Nikki Honer explained: "We talk regularly to those who use our services here in Dorset and our customers have been very clear about the enhancements they would like to see.

"These brand new purpose-built buses, some of which are open top, will provide comfort and reliability for all those travelling with us.

"Each of the vehicles is up to Euro 5 vehicle emissions standards, meaning our carbon footprint has reduced too.

"The new buses will operate across a selection of Breezer routes - complementing our service improvements for the busy summer season."

As part of its summer service change, the bus operator has extended its Breezer routes to provide additional journeys.

"We know how much people enjoy travelling on our Breezer services, and even more so during the summer months when passengers like to take advantage of our open-top buses," said Nikki.

So there are some new services to the Breezer routes, which include the Breezer 30 and Breezer 60 services, to replace the company's X43 and route 52 buses.

Nikki said: "We’re very much looking forward to hearing the views of our customers about our new vehicles and the additional Breezer routes we are now operating here in Dorset."

The routes are Breezer 30 - previously the X43 - Weymouth, Wool, Swanage service, running until September 18; Breezer 40 Poole, Wareham, Swanage; Breezer 60 - previously route 52 - Poole, Canford Cliffs, Sandbanks; and Breezer 50 Bournemouth, Sandbanks, Studland, Swanage.
