Bournemouth East MP Tobias Ellwood is keeping his job in the Foreign Office under new Prime Minister Theresa May.

Mr Ellwood, who is Minister for the Middle East, North Africa, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Central Asia & Counter Terrorism, tweeted just after lunch to say he'd been confirmed in his  post.

Poole MP Robert Syms is back as a government whip. He was fired from the whip's office by David Cameron in 2013, prompting a furious Twitter reaction from his former wife Fiona on Twitter.

New Forest MP Sir Desmond Swayne was not so lucky though. He tweeted that the PM was trying to ring him but he was in the middle of the New Forest without signal.

Then, later, he tweeted a picture of himself with David Cameron captioned 'and it's goodbye from us.'

Sir Desmond was minister for international development, the department handed to Priti Patel in the cabinet reshuffle last week. It's not yet known who, if anyone, will be taking his role.

The MP, who was knighted in the Queen's Birthday Honours this year, feared he had lost in job after last year's general election when he arrived at the department to find he was locked out and Grant Shapps had been appointed to his job. But it later turned out to be a misunderstanding.
