Could you make a film in 48 hours?

Budding filmmakers are being urged to sign up for a new competition that will put their creative skills to the test.

Shooting from the Hip launches later this year and will challenge contestants to write, shoot and edit a film in just 48 hours.

Participants will receive a title and theme at the opening even on Friday, November 11.

They will then be given two days to shoot a film which can be any genre or interpretation of the title.

There will then be a screening event at The Shelley Theatre on November 17 where all the films will be shown and judged by a panel of industry professionals.

The screening will be open to members of the public.

Organiser Will Whiting said: "I am passionate about local film making and promoting film making as a creative pursuit.

"I want the event to become an annual fixture on Bournemouth's creative calendar and grow the event year on year."

The event is open to all film makers over the age of 16 and is free to enter.
