A SECTION of a main road through Poole was blocked for over three hours after a car hit a lamppost yesterday afternoon.
The call came into Dorset Police at 7.30pm with reports of the incident on Canford Way between Alderney Roundabout and Mannings Heath Roundabout.
A Dorset Police spokesperson said that the vehicle came off the road before hitting a lamppost while heading in the Alderney direction.
They added that a lane of the dual-carriageway was blocked as a result, but the police did not make any road closures.
A crew from Poole Firestation attended the crash and worked to make the scene safe.
Staff from South Western Ambulance Service were called, but it was established that nobody was injured.
The local authorities were contacted to deal with an amount of debris on the road. The vehicle was recovered and all emergency services were able to leave the scene by 10.55pm.
