THE Purbeck Trail series of runs has been expanded to include the tough Black Hill 10k race.
Runners taking part in four or more of the runs around the Purbecks are automatically entered into the series, which takes in a range of distances and types of off-road terrain.
All runners completing the event score points according to their final position, with their best four results taken into account.
A race series spokesman said: "The first year of the Purbeck Trail was very successful and provided additional incentive for running hard as well as making the races even more fun.
"We are very pleased to be able to extend the series with the Black Hill 10k."
The Black Hill run takes starts in Bere Regis and takes in some stunning Purbeck countryside.
Purbeck Trail Series ongoing scores will be posted with a link from each participating race's website.
At the end of the series and when points have been tallied for runners’ best three events there is a range of age categories for men and women where prizes can be won.
The results will be announced and prizes allocated after the Studland Stampede, in October.
The six events that now make up the Purbeck Trail Series are:
- Lulworth Castle 10k
- Studland Fun Run 5k.
- The Beast 13ish miles.
- The Purbeck Marathon.
- The Black Hill 10k.
- Studland Stampede 12k.
Entries should be made to the individual races through their relevant websites or other specified entry routes, the race series spokesman said.
