TWO men were left with serious injuries following two separate incidents on Saturday afternoon.

The first saw a man arrested following an alleged stabbing in West Howe.

Armed police were called to a property in Wavell Road at 12.15pm following claims a man had been stabbed during a burglary.

A man in his 30s sustained an injury to his leg and was taken to hospital. His injury is not believed to be life-threatening.

Subsequently a manhunt was launched in the West Howe and Kinson areas involving the NPAS police helicopter.

Police put a cordon in place at the scene and forensics officers attended to investigate.

The force had been called to the scene by the South Western Ambulance Service.

Detective Constable Aston Starkie of Bournemouth CID said: "We are no longer seeking to locate the suspect, but I am still keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this incident or its aftermath.

"We need to establish exactly what happened at Wavell Road at Saturday lunchtime. Did you see two men arguing or fighting? Alternatively, did you see the suspect leaving the area - potentially on a pedal cycle - or the victim looking for help?"

A 38-year-old male was arrested last night and is helping police with their enquiries.
