THOUSANDS of foodies flocked to Dorset’s largest ever vegan fair this weekend.

The BIC was packed across the two days for Bournemouth’s third such festival, which featured around 90 stalls.

Visitors were invited to sample an array of food, ranging from tasty raw snacks such as dairy free cakes to nutritious pies and desserts including fudge and truffles.

There were also stalls for clothing featuring vegan-friendly shoes, clothes with animal rights slogans and anti-factory farming campaign groups.

Many of the stallholders were from the local area and included Meatfree Martha, Mr Nice Pie, Lush, Vegan Heart Cakes and Kate’s Dairy Free Cakes.

The first 75 visitors on each day received a free goody bag, and organisers said they hoped the event would appeal to everyone, from long-term vegans to those just curious about the diet choice.
