The award-winning Shake and Stir Vintage Festival is returning this year with a bigger and better line-up than ever before.

The festival, which takes place on Fishermans Walk, Southbourne Grove and the Green, will feature, music, dancing, classic cars and a host of food and drink stalls.

This year the event is being presented by Coastal BID, in association with Southbourne-on-sea business association and the Brewhouse and Kitchen.

Expect music from the Bournemouth University Big Band, Memphis Belle, The Red Fez Orchestra, The Land Girls and the Rip It Up rock ‘n roll band.

Encouraging everyone to jump, jive and swing, there will also be vintage dance classes and performances from the Highcliffe Charity Players and The Glad Rag Production Company.

On Sunday visitors will be treated to music from a 50’s inspired band The Junco Shakers, Retro Rita, and the Rockin The joint trio.

The event -  from July 1-3 - is being organised by two local businesswomen Fiona McArthur and Mandy Payne.

Mandy Payne, organiser said: "This year Shake and Stir promises to be the best Vintage Festival to date!

"We have so many delightful acts ready to inspire crowds with music from the 30s, 40s and 50s, alongside some fantastic family entertainment.

"This is an excellent opportunity to promote Southbourne’s busy and vibrant town centre.”
