The third annual Wheels Festival returns to Bournemouth this weekend. The three-day event, which runs until Sunday, features Monster Trucks, supercars, military vehicles, beachcross racing, vintage cars, stunts, a funfair and lots more. The 35th annual Poole Festival of Running takes place on Sunday. Runners of all ages and abilities will flock to Poole Park to take part in the 10k or 5k with minithon races for youngsters. There will be entertainment all day in the West Field including food and trade stands, crafts, kids activities, rides and a beer tent. There's still time to sign up for those who want to enter. The entry desk will be open from 9am to 4pm on Saturday and from 9am on Sunday. 

A Grand Summer Steam Gala comes to Moors Valley Country Park on Saturday and Sunday. Described as "the biggest railway event of the year", the event will feature steam, traction engines, visiting locomotives, exhibitions, classic cars, fire engines and military vehicles. Runs from 10.45am to 4pm. The Gala is free to attend, however normal train fares and parking charges apply.

Christchurch Cancer Research UK is hosting a Charity Cream Tea, in celebration of the Queen’s birthday, including a hat competition, stalls and a raffle, at the Methodist Hall in Lymington Road, Highcliffe from 2.30pm to 5pm on Saturday. Tickets £5.50 from 07925 974174.

Get into the swing of things on National Croquet Day with a free taster session. East Dorset Croquet Club, in Salterns Road, Poole, is opening its lawns on Sunday to any who might like to try the game. Entry is free and all equipment is provided. All you need to do is bring a pair of flat shoes and turn up at the club any time between 9.30am and 4.30pm.

A classic cars on the prom event is being held at Christchurch Quay between 11am and 5pm on Sunday, June 5. 

Get along to Studland Bay, Swanage on Sunday, June 5 for low tide day from 10am to 4pm. Follow the water as the tide goes out in the afternoon, and join in with some of the activities.

Arch community fair is at Canford Heath Community Centre, Mitchell Road, Poole from 10 am to 3 pm on Saturday June 4, with stalls inside and out. Red white and blue clothes or fancy dress welcomed.
