A STEAM-THEMED afternoon of family entertainment was hosted in Southbourne this afternoon.
Dozens of children got the chance to take rides on steam engines and have their faces painted, among a host of other fun activities on offer at Fishermans Walk. Starting at noon and running until 5pm, there were a series of swing performances from the Bournemouth University Big Band as well as singing from Karl Lattimer and Antony Adams.
The bandstand also played host to a display of classic motorbikes and visitors were given a chance to take a closer look at some vintage steam engines.
The volunteer-run event, organised by the Friends of Fishermans Walk, also included four 30-minute pond-dipping sessions.
With the help of the Coastal Business Improvement District, the group is set to put on music shows once a month at the popular green space.
