UPDATE: Peter has been found safe and well. Thanks to all who shared.

POLICE are becoming increasingly concerned for a man who has gone missing from the Wareham area.

Peter Thomas, who is 62-years-old, travelled from London to Wareham yesterday, Saturday.

He checked into a guest house in Furzebrook Road in Stoborough near the town for one night.

At around 7pm he left the guest house stating that he was going into Wareham for a meal but did not come back.

Peter is white and five feet eight inches tall. He has greying hair and blue eyes and is clean shaven. When he left the guest house he was wearing a short coat.

Chief Inspector Steve Horton, of Dorset Police, said: “We believe a taxi driver located Peter on the Puddletown Road.

"The driver dropped him off in South Street in Wareham at around 9pm after driving him around for about an hour as Peter could unfortunately not remember where he was staying for the night.

“Peter left the guest house without vital medication and may become very unwell without it.

"He cannot walk very far and gets easily out of breath. He has recently become increasingly confused.

“We are very concerned for Peter’s welfare as he has not been seen since he was dropped off by a taxi in Wareham.

“I urge anyone who might know where Peter may be or has seen a man matching his description to please contact Dorset Police urgently.

“If Peter sees this message, please contact us as we and your family want to ensure you are safe and well.”

Anyone with any information or knowledge as to Peter’s whereabouts should call Dorset Police on 101, quoting incident number 28:484.
