THE chef lineup for this summer's Swanage Fish Festival has been announced - and it includes some big names from Dorset's culinary scene.

James Golding, chef director from The Pig, has confirmed he'll be returning this year.

He said: "It has been fantastic, being a local community member and being involved in something like this, and seeing how it is thriving.

"It is fantastic to have this awareness raised about fish and seafood."

Meanwhile, Rick Stein Sandbanks' head chef Pete Murt will also be cooking up a storm for the Swanage crowds at the festival next month.

Pete will be joined by Matt Budden - executive chef at Hilton Bournemouth - who is set to rustle up some delicious Dorset shellfish.

On the Sunday of the weekend event The Olive Tree cooking school teacher - and forager for The Pig - Guiseppe Sinaguglia will be giving tips on how to forage your own ingredients.

Then, ending on a sweet note, Claire Burnet from Swanage-based Chococo will reveal how she makes the company's award-winning handmade chocolates.

Thousands of sea food lovers packed out the inaugural Swanage Fish Festival last year.

More than 20 local eateries took part in the event and Prince Albert Gardens - the same venue for 2016 - was transformed by an array of produce stalls, stands and cooking demonstrations.

Speaking after that event, Caroline Finch - one of the festival organisers - told the Echo: "Many traders sold out of stock on both days and some have already signed up for next year.

"We can't wait to put on an even better performance next year."

As well as the stalls and cooking demonstrations, there will also be crabbing and fishing contests to take part in and live music.

"The line-up also includes many more local chefs, on hand with practical advice and inspiring menus," explained a festival spokesman. "Enjoy delicious fresh fish, cold crisp bubbles and browse wares from more than 30 stalls overlooking stunning Swanage Bay.

"This event will be raising money for the Fishermen's Mission, RNLI and The National Coast Watch Institution, Swanage.

Entry for Swanage Fish Festival, taking part June 10-12, is free.
