The Siege of Wareham will be reenacted this bank holiday weekend. Viking and Saxon armies are set to march into Corfe Castle for the reenactment daily from April 30 until May 2. You'll also be able to explore the Saxon village and talk to the craftspeople. Entry to all events is included in the normal price of admission to Corfe Castle.

The world's only running Tiger 1 tank will be in action at The Tank Museum in Bovington on Saturday. Tiger Day is a special one-day event dedicated to the famous tank. As well as displays, there will also be talks and an interactive model tank demonstration. Tickets are £15 for adults, £8 for children 5 to 16 years with free entry for under fives. 

Blandford's popular annual Georgian Fayre takes place on Bank Holiday Monday. The event, which is one of the largest in the south, takes place between 10am and 5pm. More than 20,000 people are expected to attend. The fayre offers a wide selection of entertainment to keep visitors, young or old, entertained throughout the day, with street stalls, traditional fairground entertainers and plenty of music and dance to enjoy.

The Pound Puppy Rescue Bazaar is being held at The Courtyard Centre in Lytchett Minster on Saturday. The event runs from 10am to 2pm featuring a host of collectables, cakes, and second-hand clothing for sale, as well as the chance to see dogs needing a home from 11am to 1pm. Donations of dried or tinned dog food are gratefully received for the rescue dogs. Dorset Knob Throwing and Food Festival returns to Cattistock on Sunday. The world famous event runs between 10am and 4pm. Last year 5,000 people turned out with 50 local producers selling their goods. Costs £4 per adult with under 12’s free.  

Compton Acres is hosting its fourth annual Japanese Weekend from Saturday until Monday. Experts will be on hand at the private gardens to offer guidance on recreating a Japanese garden at home, and there will also be an selection of locally grown Japanese plants on sale with a discount to mark the event.

Rossmore Community Library opens its new sensory garden on Saturday. There will be a variety of garden items for and crafts along with a tombola with refreshments available. The event is free and takes place between 11am and 1pm. 

The Hampshire Country Fair returns to Netley Marsh Showground this weekend. The two day event, which runs Sunday and Monday, features demonstrations, dare-devil stunts, country sports, falconry displays, stalls, crafts and cooking demos. There will also be bouncy castles, puppet shows and face painting. Takes place between 10am and 6pm. Entry is £12 for adults, £11 for OAPS, £4 for children and free for under fives. 

Little ones can try their hand at a number of activities at St Christopher's Church Hall on Saturday. There will be crafts, games, activities and food. Everyone is welcome. Takes place between 2pm and 4pm. 

A car boot sale takes place at High Mead Farm in Ferndown on bank holiday Monday. Takes place between 10am and 2pm with £1 entry for buys and £5 for sellers. 

The New Forest Vegan Fair takes place at Lyndhurst Community Centre on Saturday. There will be 40 stalls filled with vegan friendly foods and a pop-up cafe. Vegans, vegetarians and omnivores all welcome. Takes place between 11am and 4pm. Entry is £3 and free for under 14s. 

A Star Wars tribute night takes place at Boscombe's Cellar Bar in Christchurch Road. Between 5pm and 1am, there will be performances from bands including Manikin Time Shark, The Subwave Network UK and Space plus DJs Mark and Geeza. Plus Sci-Fi merchandise, stalls projections, lights and 3D décor. Entry is free and fancy dress is encouraged. Call 07731883478 or visit magiccloud.org.uk.

A Hidden Secrets of Bournemouth circular guided walk starts from Hotel Miramar on Bank Holiday Monday at 3pm. You will find out about the area’s history, famous residents and visitors, and discover some of the town’s hidden secrets. £6 (over sixties & students £5).
