POOLE’S Jacob Peters penned another chapter in his re-write of the Dorset record books with a fresh hat-trick of county standards at the Portsmouth Easter Open Meet.

The 15-year-old broke not only his own junior long-course records for the 50m backstroke and 100m butterfly with times of 27.63 and 56.20 but European medallist Jay Lelliott’s senior record for the one-length backstroke.

Peters, who holds two British junior records, has now broken nine county marks in 2016 and 35 since last summer.

His efforts in Portsmouth won him 16yrs age group golds in six events plus two golds and a silver in championship finals against opponents up to six years his senior.

Club-mates Emily Clarke and Harriet Perfect also won championship finals.

Clarke threatened to wear out the podium as she won the 50m, 200m, 400m and 800m freestyle, 50m butterfly and a 200m backstroke final in which Dorset champion Perfect took bronze.

The 18-year-old’s 800m winning time of 9:02.51 was a senior club record.

Perfect, 16, made the top step of the podium in the 100m backstroke final (1:06.25) and completed her medal set with silver in the 50m.

She won the 16yrs golds over all three distances.

Thea O’Keefe also made two championship finals as she won 16yrs golds in the 50m, 100m and 200m freestyle, silver in the 400m and bronze in the 800m in 9:25.94, a junior club record to go with Clarke’s senior mark.

Jess Kelleway won gold in the 13yrs 200m freestyle and bronze in the 400m, while Ryan Openshaw won the 11yrs 1500m freestyle.

Matt Collins won a trio of bronze medals in the 16yrs 50m, 100m and 1500m freestyle and set a club record of 17:28.81 in the longest event.

Jazz McCrea, 15, won age group silver in the 50m and 100m butterfly, 50m breaststroke and 200m individual medley (IM) plus a bronze in the 100m breaststroke and silver in the IM final.

Silver also went to Jasmine Holmes, 17, in the 100m freestyle championship final and Madison Kemp in the 18 and over 100m butterfly.

Luke Roxburgh’s bronze-winning 2:31.82 in the 17yrs 200m breaststroke puts him in the top 24 in his age group in the British rankings.

Max Weeks struck gold five times to lead a 12-medal tally for Seagulls.

He won the 14yrs 50 and 100m butterfly and 100m freestyle as well as 14/u finals in the 50m freestyle and butterfly.

Team-mate Isaac Ellis came second and third in the 12yrs 50 and 100m butterfly.

Silver also went to Seagulls’ Edward Jaszak in the 11yrs 1500m freestyle, Ellen Broadfield in the 16yrs 50m breaststroke and Abigail Richardson in the 16yrs 50m freestyle.
