RINGWOOD Junior School are celebrating after winning four medals in their first appearance in the Hampshire Primary Schools’ Relay Championships at Waterlooville.
The year six boys’ team of Joe Durwood, Matthew Dunning, Theo Scott and Matthew Workman won gold in the medley relay and bronze in the freestyle.
And the girls’ team of Freya Bradfield, Freya Waddington-Barton, Zoe Small and Ellie James won silver in both their races.
The gold medal also qualifies the boys for the South East finals at Guildford on April 23 and the girls are hopeful of joining them depending on the times of teams from other counties.
The school’s PE co-ordinator Jennifer Elward said: “We are so delighted.
“A mum suggested we enter because we have some good swimmers and the children were fantastic.
“They were marvellous ambassadors for the school. We are very proud of their efforts.”
