A METEOR flashed across the sky in the early hours of Thursday morning.
People across the country reported seeing a bright flash at about 3.20am on Thursday morning, with a green or blue ball of light seen for a few seconds.
It is believed the unusual colour was caused by the meteor containing magnesium.
Photographer Martin Dolan captured the difference in light in these pictures he took at Knowlton Church, near Wimborne.
He said: "I was in the middle of a 30 seconds exposure when it flew over my head - pitch black to bright green."
UK Meteor Network captured this footage in Church Crookham, north Hampshire.
