THE A31 has reopened after a man was rescued from an overturned car near Winterborne Zelston.
Emergency services were called to the scene near the Little Chef and petrol station, earlier this morning with one person now released from the car.
Police closed the road between the World's End pub and Winterborne Kingston.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said they were alerted around 6.55am to the single vehicle crash.
Officers have closed the road in both directions and put diversions in place while they deal with the incident.
Firefighters and paramedics were also called to the scene.
A spokeswoman for Dorset Police said: “We’re asking people to avoid the area and find alternative routes.”
A spokesman for Dorset Fire and Rescue firefighters had released the man who was trapped inside the vehicle.
A spokesperson for South West Ambulance Service said one crew and a rapid response vehicle were sent.
The man has been taken to Poole General Hospital. His injuries are not thought to be serious.
