THE Royal Air Force’s Eurofighter Typhoon is due to return to this year’s Bournemouth Air Festival in August.

The Typhoon Display Team’s pilot, Flight Lieutenant Mark Long, took to Twitter to say that the hugely popular jet would be showing off its speed, power and aerobatic versatility on each of the latter three days of the event - from Friday to Sunday.

Other aircraft already announced at the four-day festival, which begins on Thursday, August 18, include the Swiss Air Force’s F/A-18 Hornet and Super Puma display teams, both of which will be taking part for the first time.

The Civil Aviation Authority recently announced that it was considering upping its fees for air shows, particularly in light of new safety requirements introduced since the Shoreham air show tragedy last year.
