A motorist caught using his mobile phone was driving told police the phone didn't belong to him - it was his son's.
The driver was caught on the Wessex Way on Tuesday.
When officers pointed out to them that it was offence to use a mobile phone while driving they replied, 'but it wasn't my phone, it was my son's I was using'.
Officers pointed out that ownership of the phone makes no difference and they would still be facing a hefty fine.
