A LUCKY dog was rescued after getting stuck in a pile of logs in the New Forest.
Bernie, the seven-year-old Jack Russell cross, had become wedged in a large stack of cut trees at Hawkhill Inclosure, Beaulieu on Thursday.
Fire crews from Lyndhurst were called to rescue the dog, with staff from the Forestry Commission using their tractor and fore end loader and strops to move the logs.
The dog was returned to his owner completely unharmed, said a spokesperson for Hampshire Fire and Rescue.
