A MAN has been arrested in connection with an alleged store robbery on Sunday.

A shop worker at Best One convenience store in Windham Road, Springbourne, was said to have been assaulted with a “lump of wood” in a robbery at 2.20pm.

The suspect then allegedly took cash from the till, leaving the alleged victim - a Christchurch man in his 50s - with head injuries, and made his getaway along nearby Clevedon Road towards Holdenhurst Road.

A 34-year-old man of no fixed abode has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

He has also been arrested in relation with an alleged robbery outside NatWest bank in Christchurch Road, Bournemouth, at 7.30pm on Tuesday, February 9.

Detectives investigating the incident at Best One arrested a 35-year-old Bournemouth man on suspicion of robbery on Wednesday. He has been released on police bail.
