A BOURNEMOUTH man has pleaded guilty to the attempted murder of his father.

Daniel Ormerod appeared before Winchester Crown Court yesterday during which he admitted to one count of trying to murder David Ormerod, on June 2, last year.

Thirty-five-year-old Daniel Ormerod, who is currently registered at Ravenswood Hospital in Fareham, launched the knife attack at his parents' home at Cranleigh Road in Bournemouth.

His Honour Judge Keith Cutler CBE, set the date for Ormerod's sentence for Thursday, February 18.

Daniel is the brother of Nic Ormerod, who was killed in a stabbing incident in Boscombe in 2011.

The event sparked the launch of the charity TYB UK - Turn Your Back UK - by their mum, anti-knife crime campaigner Jane, who was also injured during Daniel's attack.
