A woman was taken to hospital after a collision in Ringwood.
The woman, whose age is unknown, was reportedly crossing Southampton Road at around 4.30pm when she was involved in a collision with a Ford Focus.
South Central Ambulance Service attended along with the air ambulance.
However, the woman was taken to Southampton General Hospital by road ambulance.
A spokeswoman for Hampshire Police said she had suffered "serious but not life threatening" injuries.
The spokesman said police are 'in discussions' with the male driver, but said the incident was not being treated as a hit and run.
“We know who he is and we’re making further enquiries with him,” she said.
The road was closed for several hours while officers investigated the scene near to the the pedestrian crossing by the Co-op and eventually re-opened the road at approximately 8.30pm.
