River levels are rising after heavy rain on Sunday and Monday, with flood alerts issued for parts of Dorset.

The Environment Agency has issued flood warnings for the Lower Stour from Sturminster Newton to Christchurch, as well as from Redhill to Wheatplot.

Home owners who live along the banks of the river are advised to take precautions.

There is also a warning for the Stour between Sturminster Newton and Sturminster Marshall, although no major issues are expected, the EA say.

And the lower Frome from East Stoke to Wareham also has a warning, with water continuing to rise and responsive to further rainfall.

With unsettled weather forecast for the end of the week, the Environment Agency are warning people to be aware.

Alerts have also been issued for the River Avon between Fordingbridge and Christchurch, as well as the lower Stour between Wimborne and Christchurch and Christchurch Harbour.

Flooding is expected at Christchurch Harbour after high tide this morning from 10am.
