THIS stunning video captures the beautiful birdlife on the Avon Causeway near Christchurch yesterday morning.
With fields flooded after the recent rainfall, the River Avon’s broken banks saw swans, lapwings, Canada geese and godwits enjoying the rare morning sun.
The footage also shows some of the 450 black-tailed godwits who have been recorded in the flooded fields this week.
The wader is more commonly seen at Brownsea, which is known for hosting "internationally important" numbers of the endangered species - sometimes up to 2000 - but recent wet weather has enticed them further inland.
As well as some impressive images, Daily Echo photographer Corin Messer, also captured the wildlife on film.
Lapwings are found on farmland throughout the UK, particularly lowland areas and wetlands with short vegetation.
In winter, they flock on pasture and ploughed fields, says the RSPB.
