CAMP Bestival organisers have announced the festival's theme for next year's event and it looks set to be out of this world.

The theme for next year’s festival at Lulworth Castle has now been announced as outer space with organisers promising the first acts for the festival to be announced very soon.

The ninth festival will take place from July 28 to 31, 2016.

Weekend tickets are on sale now for the event with camping plus and backstage VIP camping tickets on sale from tomorrow, Friday, November 27.

To give people a special galactic festive incentive to get their tickets now, anyone who orders them before Friday, December 11 will receive an exclusive outer space Camp Bestival Christmas card.

Organiser and founder of the festival Rob da Bank announced the theme.

He said: “Attention all space personnel, cosmic explorers, astronauts and little astro-nutters, prepare for blast off.

“Yes friends it’s time to whizz off into orbit down at Lulworth Castle aka space camp Dorset and explore the outer regions of our glorious galaxy, the stars, the planets, the moon dust, the asteroids and the occasional scary black hole and remember kids – outer space is the place.”

The Camp Bestival advent calendar also returns this year and kicks off on December 1.

Behind the doors will be prizes, activity sheets and more to get people in the festive spirit and excited for next year’s festival.

As well as the yet to be announced ‘heavenly’ line-up of music acts, there will be the usual theatre performances, shows, attractions, poets, food and more.

All the usual attractions will be back including the Kids’ Gardens, the Big Top, the Bestival Inflatable Church and The Greatest Tent on Earth.

Camp Bestival is the sister festival of the Isle of Wight's Bestival and has won the award for the Best Family Festival four times.

Packed crowds once again flooded to this year's event and enjoyed music from the likes of Ella Henderson, Bob Geldof and headliners the Kaiser Chiefs.

A limited number of day tickets will be released for the event next year.
