FRONTLINE police officers will take questions from the public in a live web chat this afternoon.

Officers will be available between 2pm and 4pm as part of the force's #YourView campaign, which aims to allow people to find out more about the work of patrol officers and the challenges they face.

A link to the web chat will be posted on Dorset Police’s Facebook and Twitter pages at 1.30, 30 minutes prior to the event takes place. You can also see two videos explaining the role of patrol officers and give your feedback by visiting yourview.dorset.police.uk

The web chat follows on from a Tweetathon last week, which showed the volume and variety of demands dealt with by police.

The Force Command Centre takes around 223 emergency calls and 630 non-emergency calls every day. From this point, patrol officers are sent to manage the most serious and urgent incidents, including those requiring a 999 response.
