DUDSBURY'S Lee Thompson will aim to cap a memorable year by winning the PGA Play-Offs in Turkey this week.

Thompson, the PGA in England (South West) Order of Merit winner, is set to compete in the end-of-season finale at Antalya Golf Club from tomorrow.

Also due to take part are Paul Hendriksen (Ivybridge), James Ruth (China Fleet G&CC) and Adam Frayne (Yelverton).

The 72-hole tournament, played over the PGA Sultan course, carries a £15,000 prize fund plus entry to a number of European and Challenge Tour events, including the BMW PGA Championship for the top 10.

For Thompson, it will be a third appearances in the play-offs.

“Winning the order of merit was my target and I have played more consistently this year, helped by my coach Stuart Little,” he said.

“This will be my third visit to the PGA Play-Offs – I went to Turkey three years ago and played at Royal Liverpool previously – and I am really looking forward to it.”
