Bus tourists live close by
REGARDING your story “Bus pass costs of OAP tourists” (Daily Echo, October 1), I assume the ticket machine on the buses can differentiate between Bournemouth Borough Council passes and others. I do not believe coach operator hotel visitors fill our buses, nor caravan park visitors. More likely Poole, Christchurch, East Dorset people making the most of summer weather to cross boundaries.
In any event, money spent subsidising pensioners and disabled bus usage will be outweighed in the fitness and thus NHS use by these groups.
