BUSINESSES across the county have been working closely with Dorset Fire and Rescue Service to help protect themselves against financial and commercial loss.
Fire safety teams have visited a number of firms as part of the Chief Fire Officers Association UK Business Safety Week.
It falls in line with the increase in temporary staff recruited in the run-up to Christmas who may not have the same level of fire safety knowledge as their permanent counterparts.
DFRS technical fire safety manager, Seth Why said: “Over 80 premises were inspected by fire safety officers who focussed on areas such as fire risk assessments, maintaining a clear fire escape and the importance of regular fire safety training for staff.
“This proactive work by the teams proved successful and has received very positive feedback from local businesses. Plans are now being developed to revisit these and other locations to further educate and inform businesses about fire safety.”
