Put your brolly and raincoat away (for now), this weekend is set to sunny and dry.

If you're heading to Ringwood Carnival on Saturday or taking part in the Purbeck Marathon on Sunday, you can breathe a sigh of relief as the weather is looking good.

Bournemouth and Poole will see long spells of sunshine on Saturday morning up until around 12noon followed by sunny intervals for the rest of the day. Temperatures are set to reach 16C.

Christchurch, Ringwood, Swanage and Blandford will see slightly more in the way of cloud and highs of 17C but it will still be dry, according to the Met Office.

Sunday will be dry with more cloud and the chance of sunny intervals in the morning and late afternoon. Although the Met Office says there's a 40% chance of light rain in Swanage at 1pm.

Our weather forecast says Saturday will be sunny and dry with a 0% chance of rain and Sunday will see similar conditions.

The BBC says it will be sunny and dry on Saturday with slightly cloudier conditions on Sunday and no rain in store.

Next week rain is expected to return with the chance of a thunderstorm around 4pm on Monday and showers on Tuesday.
