THERE'S just one month to go until ten thousand runners of all ages will be pounding the town's streets as part of this year's Bournemouth Marathon Festival (BMF).

And this year's event which runs from October 3 to 4 looks set to be bigger and better than ever.

But there's still time to enter some of the events ahead of next week's final deadline. All half marathon entries and standard entries for the 10k, 5k and junior races close on September 9 at 5pm.

Although standard entries for the full marathon have already closed, there are still charity places available.

Bournemouth YMCA resident Glen Miller is 'hopping' to raise funds for the organisation when he takes part in the full marathon dressed as a kangaroo.

Glen says he has much to be thankful for to the YMCA Bournemouth for providing him with a safe place to stay.

He said: "I love it here, there is so much help and support from everyone, and I want to run to support those who have supported me.

"I am hoping for a better future not only for myself, but also for many others who are being supported by YMCA Bournemouth."

Sheena Dayman, spokesperson for YMCA Bournemouth, said: "Everyday people walk past the homeless, at YMCA Bournemouth this year we are encouraging people to run for them. We still need more people to run 5k or 10k."
