AN EMOTIONAL Matt Ford revealed Darcy Ward had regained limited movement in his arms during a public address at Poole Pirates last night.
Ward, 23, suffered spinal injuries in a crash while riding in Poland 11 days ago.
In line with the wishes of Aussie star's family, Pirates promoter Ford did not elaborate further on his condition while speaking to supporters from the centre green after Poole's 60-32 victory over King’s Lynn.
The Wimborne Road chief expressed the gratitude of Ward, his family and the club for the messages of support and donations received to help pay for his care, particularly as bringing him back to England and subsequent medical expenses had already cost in the region of £50,000.
Ford, who was speaking to club announcer Nigel Leahy, was visibly upset as he delivered the update to the Pirates faithful.
