It's just over a week to go until the A338 Spur Road rebuild gets underway. Here's how it's going to affect bus services.

Royal Bournemouth Hospital is writing to all patients with appointments after September 6 urging them to allow extra travelling time for appointments or come to hospital by bus.

Patients who are delayed and miss their appointment time are being warned their appointment may be postponed to another day.

But the number of buses serving Royal Bournemouth Hospital are set to be reduced . 

Yellow Buses are dropping the number of services from 28 to 22 from August 30 in order to avoid long delays because of congestion.

The bus company has brought forward their winter network changes from October due to the Spur Road rebuild.

Route 4b will terminate at Castlepoint and no longer serve the hospital. Through tickets will be offered to the hospital allowing passengers to using services 3h and 2 2a 2b.

Routes 4a/b/c and 20 will have some re-timings although full timetable details are not yet available.

X3 Bournemouth to Salisbury

An additional 5 to 10 minutes in both directions, on trips between Salisbury and Bournemouth.

X6 Bournemouth - Verwood - Poole

There will be fewer through journeys between Verwood and Bournemouth on the X6 and most journeys from Poole will only run as far as Ringwood.

The journeys that terminate in Verwood will run via a one way loop through the town from Lake Road to Lake Road in a clockwise direction.

There will be a revised timetable and certain jouneys will only run as far as Ashley Heath and St Ives.
