CHERRIES fans have just days to wait to see history made as their team kicks-off their first match in their first season in the Premier League.

Competing in the top flight after winning the Championship last season, AFC Bournemouth will take on Aston Villa in front of a sell-out crowd at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.

Win, lose or draw, it will be the start of an unforgettable season for the club and its manager Eddie Howe who has transformed Cherries' fortunes in recent years.

If the incredible 60,000 turn out for the seafront parade in honour of the club at the end of last season is anything to go by they will have the hopes of the town riding on their shoulders as they take on some of the biggest and best teams in the country.

To celebrate this momentous moment, the Echo is publishing a 32-page supplement on Thursday, which includes a message from club chairman Jeff Mostyn and an interview with Cherries chief executive Neill Blake.

He shares his thoughts on the possibility of increasing capacity at the Vitality Stadium, which on Saturday will become the smallest stadium with the lowest capacity to stage Premier League football.

He told the Echo: “It would not have been feasible for this season. Due to the size of the project, we would have had to have made decisions in December/January and we couldn’t make a call on going up so early. Our sole focus was on investing in the first team and giving the manager as much help as we could.

“We didn’t want to presume we were going to go up. Hindsight is a wonderful thing and if we had known then, we would have started. Meetings are planned throughout the season and stadium development will be on the agenda.”

The supplement also includes interviews with Howe and Harry Redknapp, as well as profiles of Cherries' Premier League opponents - including Liverpool who they take on in their first away game on Monday, August 17.

It is a must-read for Cherries fans who will find everything they need to know ahead of this historic season for the club.

Social media is alive with the excitement of supporters anticipating Saturday's match.
