APPROXIMATELY £750,000 is being spent on a pedestrian bridge over the redundant railway line at Hamworthy Park because Network Rail will not allow any more level crossings to be constructed, yet the builders who have just commenced building this massive bridge have been allowed to build their own crossing for men and machinery over the same railway line!
What madness!
It’s too late to do anything about this now, but surely an easier access should have been considered that would allow both young families and the disabled to enter the park without the huge expense of a complicated pedestrian bridge.
I hope that those responsible feel suitably guilty when they hear that due to cash shortages our council have proposed car parking charges in all five parks, thus punishing others for their excessive spending.
