2. The first Friday night fireworks display of the summer took place at Bournemouth Pier. Timelapse by Julio del Castillo Vivero.
3. There was a 'blue moon' on Friday night. The spectacle - last seen in 2012- won't happen again until 2018. The term "blue moon" refers to the second of two full moons appearing in the same calendar month. The first appeared on July 2. See lots of pictures of it over Dorset
4. Thousands of people flocked to the 21st annual Stompin on the Quomps event took place in Christchurch on Saturday. See pictures and video here
5. Chilli-heads flocked to the fifth annual Great Dorset Chilli Festival at Wimborne St Giles. The event saw demonstrations from the likes of Mat Follas, a chilli eating competition and live music. Read more and see pictures here
