THE A31 was brought to a standstill after a two-car crash on Saturday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the collision on the A31 eastbound, west of Stoney Cross, at about 1.30pm.

Three people were injured in the crash, with one motorist taken to hospital, but none of them were believed to have been seriously hurt.

Heavy traffic eastbound was reported as far west as Ringwood, while there were problems in the opposite direction between the crash site and Stoney Cross.

Anyone with information on the incident, which involved a BMW and a Peugeot, is asked to contact Hampshire Constabulary on 101.
