Friday's line-up of major acts included the Cuban Brothers, Buzzcocks and Clean Bandit.

Dick and Dom kept crowds eagerly waiting for their performance and were a huge hit.

Aiden Byrne of the organising team at Camp Bestival, said: “Today has been brilliant. “It’s been a lovely day and extremely sunny here.

“We’ve had a huge crowd here and all the acts are going down brilliantly.

“The Cuban Brothers and Eliza Carthy and Dick and Dom have all performed today and each received a huge reception.

“We still have the Buzzcocks to come and Clean Bandit and Professor Green which people are unbelievably excited for.

“Our day tickets for Saturday are completely sold out so I think we will have an even bigger crowd here.”

The Kaiser Chiefs will headline the main stage tonight and on Sunday revellers at the Lulworth Castle festival can enjoy sets from chart-topper Ella Henderson, Bob Geldof and Underworld.

Comedy will be provided by Marcus Brigstocke and there will be plenty of material to make you think in the Guardian Literary Institute and How To talks, including How To Be A Songwriter with Ella Eyre and How to Birdwatch with Bill Oddie.

And the youngsters have their very own headliners including Mr Tumble and The Cat in the Hat.

Festival goers are also invited to ‘show their wild side’ and dress up in feral fancy dress.

Event organiser Rob da Bank said: “As Camp veterans know, music is only one part of the adventure and our incredible creative crew have really pulled it out of the bag with some really wild arts and kids shenanigans from The Train Trip to West End Kids and all the amazing workshops and wild activities to boot.”
