POLICE investigating two serious sexual assaults on 18-year-olds in Bournemouth’s Lower Gardens have released CCTV images of possible witnesses.

A major investigation was launched following the attacks in the early hours of the morning on July 13 and July 21.

And now officers would like to speak to two men and two women who were in the gardens at around the same time as the first offence.

They would also like to speak to a man and a woman who were walking in the area at a similar time to the second offence.

Detectives are stressing that the individuals pictured are not believed to have been involved in either incident, but may be able to provide vital information to assist with their enquiries.

Detective Inspector Mark Samuel, of Dorset Police’s Major Crime Investigation Team, said: “I am now in a position to release CCTV images of potential witnesses to the incidents. I appreciate the quality of the images are not the best, but these are what we have available at this current time.

“I wish to emphasise the individuals pictured are not believed to be involved in either incident, but as they were walking through the gardens at the relevant time may have vital information to assist with my investigations.

“I would urge these people to contact me on 101.”

A 30-year-old Bournemouth man arrested in connection with both incidents was released on Friday July 24 on police bail pending further enquires.

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 quoting incident number 21:25. Alternatively, call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
