A phone box was flattened following a crash between two vehicles.
The incident took place on Christchurch Road, Lansdowne on Wednesday evening.
Police were called at 9.54pm.
A Transit van and a Volswagen Golf were involved.
Ambulance were also called to treat minor injuries.
A witness told the Echo: "I heard a loud, prolonged screech followed by a massive bang, which ended with the sound of metal hitting the ground.
"If it wasn't for the initial screech sound, I would have thought it was a bomb as it was so loud."
The vehicle ended up on its side.
