TWO staff from the Scissors salon chain locally won awards at a national ceremony.

Scissors salons joined with their sister company, the Francesco Group, for the 2015 Francesco Group Photographic Awards.

The Bournemouth winners were Sian Draper, who took the award for Salons Year Three Creative Cut and Colour, and Emma Fearn, who was presented with the prize for Colour Image of the Year.

Naomi Francis of Ferndown came second in Colour Image award; Chloe Bartholomew of Ferndown came third in the Year Three Creative Cut and Colour title; Gemma Jackson of Francesco Group Academy in Poole came second in Salons Year Two Commercial Cut and Colour; and Eloise Dudley of Westbourne came second in the Hair Trend Image of the Year title.

The event, at Birmingham Town Hall, was the first time stylists from all 36 Franceso Group salons had been joined by their Scissors counterparts, for the prize-giving, along with Franceso Group managing director Ben Dellicompagni and Scissors MD Yogi Parmar.

Mia Dellicompagni, director of hairdressing at Scissors, said: “The standard of work presented for judging this year exceeded my expectations. It made the judging process very tough. I couldn’t be more proud of everyone who entered, we’ve got a very bright future ahead of us at Scissors. It’s our time to shine!”

The evening started with a show by the Francesco Group creative team, showcasing the trends and techniques from their latest collection, Raw Erosion.

The award for Hair Trend Image of the Year went to Sean Kenna of Francesco Group Hanley.

Scissors has eight salons in Dorset and two in Hampshire: Bournemouth, Christchurch, Ferndown, New Milton, Poole, Ringwood, Westbourne and Winton.
