RESIDENTS are encouraged to donate their unwanted tools to a collection point next Saturday to be sent on to people in Africa.
The Rotary Club of Wareham will be at The Sandford Pub, on Sandford Road, on Saturday, July 11, from 9.45am to 11.45am, to receive any plumbing, carpenters, building, cycle, mechanic tools on behalf of the Tools for Self Reliance charity organisation.
Donated tools will then be sent to Africa in bulk, where people will be taught how to use them, to enable them to become self-reliant.
David King from the Rotary Club of Wareham, said: "Spanners, saws, although not hardpoint as they cannot be resharpened, hammers, chisels, planes, anvils, arc welders and in fact any tool which would enable an individual to set up a business, even bicycle repair kits, will be accepted.
"We are grateful for all contributions, no matter what condition, and we will not decline anything.
"We shall get them restored to pristine condition and dispatched to those that need them in Africa."
Anyone who is not able to attend and wishes to make a donation, should ring 01929 553936.
