THIS year's Twilight Walk for Women looks set to be bigger and better than ever with the offer of a new prize for the event's biggest fundraiser.

Bournemouth Hospital Charity has been named The Village Hotel’s charity of the year for 2015 and has offered a VIP experience, including an overnight stay with dinner, spa treatments, afternoon tea and a month’s leisure club membership, for the top fundraiser.

The 1k, 5k, or 10k walk starts at 8pm at Bournemouth seafront on June 5 and will raise funds for equipment that will benefit hundreds of women being treated in the Royal Bournemouth Hospital’s (RBH) Jigsaw Building, due to open this autumn.

Staff from The Village Hotel, opposite RBH in Deansleigh Road, also took part in the charity’s March for Men event, raising £400, and its Brew Up for dementia campaign by holding a coffee morning which raised £125.

Andrea Piedot, Corporate Fundraising Officer for the charity, said: "It’s brilliant that the staff have been so supportive and engaged in our events and campaigns and we are really looking forward to working with them and raising lots of money.”

Matthew Selch, general manager at The Village Hotel, said: “The hospital has been our neighbour for the past ten years and they were the first choice for our team when choosing a charity of the coming year. This isn’t just because of the close proximity but as many of the team and their families have been helped by the hospital.

“We have some great ideas of how to raise funds over the coming year including sportsmans’ dinners and family fun days.”

Registration forms for Twilight Walk for Women can be picked up from the Charity Office situated in the main entrance of RBH or you can register online at bournemouthhospitalcharity.org.uk. Registration costs £15 per person. Fancy dress optional.
