A DRIVER was taken to hospital after a crash close to Upton Country Park this morning.
Dorset Police was called by South Western Ambulance Service just before 7.30am with reports of the incident - between a silver Citroen Saxo and a silver Renault Megane - on the Upton bypass on-slip, close to Upton Country Park.
Speaking to the Daily Echo on the scene, traffic officer PC Simon Fairholme said that the woman, who was driving the Citroen, had been taken to Poole Hospital; she was conscious and talking.
She was trapped in her vehicle and Dorset Fire and Rescue Service were also on scene to help free the woman.
The driver of the Renault was taken home by police.
As officers were dealing with the first accident, there was a minor collision between a Royal Mail Daf truck and a Triumph motorbike close by. Nobody was injured in that crash.
Police officers taped off the top of Blandford Road while they dealt with the incident but the road is now reopened.
There was congestion in the area while the vehicles were recovered and the scene cleared.
