A DISABLED man was pushed to the ground and robbed in a daylight attack in Bear Cross on Wednesday.

The incident is believed to have happened at around 5.45pm in a car park in Duck Lane when the 40-year-old victim was removing items from his car.

He reported feeling the car door being pushed into his back, followed by someone's hands pushing him to the ground.

A Timberland bag containing a Fujitsu laptop was stolen from the vehicle during the incident. Fortunately the victim did not sustain any injuries as a result of the attack.

Dorset Police are now appealing to the public to help identify the perpetrator who is described as a five feet eight inches tall white man, of thin build, with messy brown collar-length hair. He was wearing a light blue hooded top with white stripes down the arms, grey tracksuit bottoms and dirty black and white Nike trainers.

Another man, who police officers would like to speak to, was seen cycling in the area just before the incident. He is described as white, around five feet ten inches tall and of slip build. He was wearing a grey zip-up jacket and a white V neck top with a crest logo and mauve stripe on it. His bike had a black and silver frame and foam sticking out of the saddle.

PC James Lees of Bournemouth Police said: "I am keen to speak with anyone who witnessed this incident, in particular the cyclist who was in the vicinity at the time of the robbery, as they may be able to help with my enquiries.

"I am also appealing to anyone who recognises the descriptions of the suspect and the cyclist we would like to speak to, to call me on 101."

No arrests have been made. Witnesses and anyone with information should contact Dorset Police on 101, quoting incident number 27:319 or the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
