COMING from a galaxy far far away a pair of Imperial TIE fighters have been spotted in the skies over Poole!

If you have ever wondered what it would look like if Darth Vader and the forces of the dark side staged an attack on the town, then check out the footage created by Steven Foster, MD of creative agency The Magic Octopus.

The clever film, which makes use of shaky footage shot from his home in the Aqua building, apparently shows two of the iconic space fighters darting about in the skies over the town, before opening fire with their laser guns. It ends with a dramatic explosion.

Steven, a lifelong fan of the movies, he said created the short film as a "bit of fun" and shared it on his company's Facebook page.

Mr Foster, whose clients include Harry Hill and ShakeAway, told the Echo: "My company does this sort of thing. If you want to appeal to new customers the way to do that is not to sell to them, but to entertain them, and that's what we try to do.

He added: "It's a bit of fun. There is so much negativity out there - sometimes it's cool just to have a bit of a laugh."

The 43-year-old said with a new a Star Wars film on the horizon, he might consider doing a series of similar videos if this one takes off. "We could have the Millennium Falcon coming down Richmond Hill," he added with a chuckle.

The video, which you can check out on the Echo website, shows the space fighters cleverly superimposed on the footage. They are first spotted through the window, then from the balcony, zooming high and disappearing out of shot, before heading back to launch their attack.
