BEACH polo is once again coming to Poole's stunning Sandbanks beach with the return of The Asahi British Beach Polo Championships this summer - now in its eighth year.

The Blue Flag beach is to host the event on July 10 and 11, bringing all the action of this high-adrenaline sport, as well as the fun and entertainment laid on around it.

Johnny Wheeler, director of Sandpolo, said: “We are delighted to be returning to Sandbanks again. Each year the event gets more popular and introduces more people to the exciting game of polo. The regular polo crowd love the atmosphere at Sandbanks, and of course our parties are the talking point on the polo circuit.”

Jack Kidd, professional polo player, said: “Top polo players are keen to return to Sandbanks to play incredibly competitive polo in front of a large and enthusiastic crowd. The setting is spectacular and I can’t wait for July!”

As well as the arena action there will be a hospitality marquee for ticket holders, and a purpose-built beach viewing area. Unlike grass polo, sand polo has three rather than four players per team in a smaller arena, keeping fans close to the action.

Ricky Cooper, team captain for the Clogau Wales Polo Team, said: “It will be a huge honour for the Clogau Wales Polo Team to return to the British Beach Polo Championships in Sandbanks as reigning champions. To win in last year’s final against Scotland, was the highlight of our season. The tournament itself is one not to miss and has become a social event of the British Summer. We literally can’t wait.”

Beach Volleyball will also return for 2015, this year hosted by Revo and Barnabys, The REVOlution Sandslam promises to deliver top class beach volleyball on both days to entertain the large crowds.

As always once the sun goes down, the beach parties begin. Coco Loco will be hosting both nights, bringing in top DJs from around the UK. Guests will party into the early hours with DJ EZ headlining on Friday.
